Traversee Internationale du Lac St-Jean
Marathon race across a Quebec lake held since 1955
Overview
The Traversee internationale du Lac St-Jean began in 1955 as a roughly 30 km professional race across a cold glacial lake in Quebec and became a fixture of the professional marathon circuit. Local families famously fed swimmers pea soup from escort boats. It still runs each July with elite fields.
