Built for the cancelled 1940 Games, used for the 1952 Olympics
Overview
The Helsinki Swimming Stadium was finished for the 1940 Games that war cancelled, then finally hosted Olympic swimming and diving in 1952. It continues to operate every summer as a popular public pool with its towers and diving well. It is a rare case of a venue built a dozen years before its Olympic moment.
