Shane Gould
Held every freestyle world record from 100 m to 1500 m at the same time
Overview
Gould won three golds, a silver and a bronze at Munich 1972 at age 15, setting a world record in each gold swim. In 1971 and 1972 she simultaneously held world marks at 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1500 m freestyle, an unmatched spread. She retired at 16 and decades later returned to masters swimming with enthusiasm.
