Ryan Lochte
200 m individual medley world record of 1:54.00 from 2011
Overview
Lochte won 12 Olympic medals between 2004 and 2016, six of them gold, often finishing just behind Michael Phelps. His 1:54.00 in the 200 m individual medley at the 2011 World Championships in Shanghai became one of the longest standing records in swimming. He won the 400 m individual medley at London 2012, though his career was later clouded by controversy at Rio 2016.
