Overview
Meilutyte, who trained in England as a teenager, won the 100 m breaststroke at the 2012 Olympics, the first Olympic swimming gold for Lithuania. She went on to set world records in the 50 m and 100 m breaststroke in 2013. After retiring young she returned to the sport and won the world title in the 50 m breaststroke in 2022.
