Overview
Franklin won the 100 m and 200 m backstroke at the 2012 Olympics, setting a world record in the 200 m, and added two relay golds. She had already won multiple titles at the 2011 World Championships and then won six golds at the 2013 World Championships in Barcelona. Shoulder problems limited her later career, and she retired in 2018 at the age of 23.
