Overview

Peaty broke the 58 second barrier in 2015 and lowered the world record to 56.88 at the 2019 world championships, a margin over rivals unmatched in modern strokes. He won the 100 m breaststroke at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, plus multiple world titles. His straight arm recovery and front end speed changed breaststroke racing.
