Marine Messe Fukuoka
Hall that hosted the world championships in 2001 and again in 2023
Overview
Marine Messe in Fukuoka staged the 2001 world championships where Grant Hackett set his 1500 m record, and returned as a world championships venue in 2023, a rare repeat for an indoor exhibition hall. Temporary pools were installed for each meet. It proved the modular pool model for major championships.
