Kosuke Kitajima
Double breaststroke golds at two consecutive Olympics, 2004 and 2008
Overview
Kitajima won the 100 m and 200 m breaststroke at Athens 2004 and repeated the double at Beijing 2008, the first man to defend both breaststroke titles. His dolphin kick pullout technique pushed rule interpretations that were later clarified. He inspired a generation of Japanese breaststrokers and won four career golds.
