Piscine Molitor
Art deco Paris pool where the bikini was unveiled in 1946
Overview
Molitor opened in 1929 with indoor and outdoor pools ringed by art deco terraces in bright color schemes. It closed in 1989, was squatted and painted by artists for years, and reopened in 2014 as a hotel with the pools restored. Louis Reard introduced the bikini at a poolside event there in 1946.
