Overview
Ederle crossed from Cap Gris Nez to Kingsdown in 1926 wearing a two piece suit and lanolin grease, using motorcycle goggles sealed with wax. Only five men had managed the crossing before her. She beat the standing mens record by about nine hours and received a ticker tape welcome in New York attended by millions.
