Built for the 1934 Empire Games and used for the 1948 Olympics
Overview
The Empire Pool beside Wembley Stadium hosted aquatic events at the 1948 London Games after opening for the 1934 Empire Games. Its pool was later floored over and the hall became the famous Wembley Arena for concerts. It remains a landmark of British indoor sport architecture.
