Alfred Hajos Swimming Complex
Margaret Island pool complex designed by the first Olympic swim champion
Overview
The Hajos complex on Margaret Island in Budapest opened in 1930, designed in part by Alfred Hajos, the 1896 champion who became an architect. It expanded over decades into a national training center with indoor and outdoor 50 m pools. Hungarian swimming history runs through its lanes, from Hajos to Hosszu.
